HE STARTED PLAYING THE PIANO WHEN BEING 6 YEARS OLD, STOPPED IT BECAUSE OF GETTING SERIOUSLY INTO COMPETETIVE SWIMMING.


BEING 10 YEARS OLD HE BECAME MOSCOWS FASTEST SWIMMER IN HIS AGE.

HIS BIGGEST IDOL BACK THEN WAS THE "ZAR" ALEXANDER POPOV.

AFTER MOVING BACK TO BERLIN AND PLAYING THE TROMBONE FOR JUST 3 MONTHS ANDREJ JOINED THE LOCAL SYMPHONIC BRASS ORCHESTRA AND SOON AFTER GOT MEMBER OF QUITE A FEW SOUL, FUNK, JAZZ AND BIG BANDS IN TOWN.

ANDREJ GOT THOUGHT BY SOME OF THE FINEST JAZZ TROMBONE PLAYERS OF OUR TIME.

MAINLY HE STUDIED AT WDR BIGBAND LEAD TROMBONIST LUDWIG NUSS AND TOOK LESSONS FROM JIGGS WIGHAM, WYCLIFF GORDON, MICHAEL DAVIS, MARSHALL GUILKES AND MANY MORE. 

HE STUDIED IN THE JAZZINSTITUT BERLIN, HFM WEIMAR AND LATER GOT A EUROPEAN JAZZMASTER DEGREE. 

EUJAM IS A JOINT MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMME OFFERED BY THE CONSERVATORIES OF AMSTERDAM, BERLIN, COPENHAGEN, PARIS AND TRONDHEIM. IT IS ESPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR TALENTED CONTEMPORARY JAZZ PERFORMERS WHO WANT TO STAY AT THE FOEREFRONT OF DEVELOPMENT IN MUSIC, CULTURE AND BUSINESS. 

FOR KEEPING HIS SPORTSMEN PASSION ALIVE ANDREJ TOOK PART IN SEVERAL TRIATHLON COMPETITIONS AND USES HIS FITNESS TO WORK AS A BIKE COURIER AT FAHRWERK KURIER KOLLEKTIV IN BERLIN.
